The name "Theo's Speed Shop" goes back much further than the business itself.
Founder John T. Francis has carried the name since he was 12 years old. Theodore is John's middle name, and as a young kid fascinated by anything with wheels and an engine, he began calling whatever space he was working in "Theo's Speed Shop."
It started with model cars spread across a bedroom floor. Soon it became bicycles, mini bikes, go-karts, and anything else that could be modified, improved, or made faster. As the years passed, those childhood projects evolved into full-sized hot rods, race cars, and restoration projects, but the name remained the same.
What began as a kid's imagination eventually became a lifelong passion and a real business dedicated to the vehicles, racers, and history that inspired it all.
Today, Theo's Speed Shop is more than a place to buy or build a car. It's a celebration of hot rod culture, drag racing history, craftsmanship, and the people who have kept this hobby alive for generations.
